![]() ![]() Isis gave birth to the god Horus, who later fought against Seth for the right to succeed Osiris on the throne. Isis and her sister Nephthys collected the parts of Osiris' body, whereupon Isis brought Osiris back to life long enough to get pregnant with his son. According to Egyptian mythology, the god Osiris was murdered by his brother Seth. First, there was Atum, "the all," who brought into being Shu, "air," and Tefnut, "moisture." Shu and Tefnut together had two children, Geb, "earth," and Nut, "sky." Geb and Nut had four children, Osiris, Seth, Isis, and Nephthys.
